In programs like After Effects, this would be called a mask layer. Camtasia does not have this feature but I'll show you a quick hack that will help you mimic a mask layer. NOTE: This technique can only create a linear entry point only. Here are the steps: 1) Decide where you want the media to appear 2) Add and organise media along the timeline above the live footage 3) Adjust the size and positioning of the elements along the intended entry point 4) Add animations/behaviours as required 5) Copy and paste a portion of the live footage and place it above the elements (like a sandwich) 6) Crop the top layer to cover the elements 7) Scrub along the timeline and adjust the crop as needed.
