Next, the bump of the nose (a.k.a. nasal hump) is shaved down. The bump consists of part bone, part cartilage. In order to achieve an elegant and natural shape, the goal is a straight profile of the nose, rather than a scooped out appearance. The bones on the side usually require narrowing for a pleasing contour. Absorbable sutures are used to close the incisions inside the nostrils. Dr. Frank Fechner is a double board certified facial plastic surgeon serving Massachusetts, Rhode Island and New Hampshire. His practice is located in Worcester, MA. All nasal plastic surgery is performed in his private surgical center. This is Dr. Frank Fechner. Today I want to review with you how I remove a nasal bump from the bridge of the nose. By Rhinoplasty How to remove bumps on nose. Rhinoplasty, commonly known as a nose job, is a plastic surgery procedure for correcting and reconstructing the form, restoring the functions, and aesthetically enhancing the nose by resolving nasal trauma, congenital defect, respiratory impediment, or a failed primary rhinoplasty. Basically this video about How to remove hump on nose. The nose hump, also referred to as a nose bump or dorsal hump, describes a raised hump on the bridge of the nose. The nose is made up of bones on top followed by two pairs of cartilages in the lower part of the nose. In between is the nasal septum, here shown in red. A nasal bump usually consists of both cartilage and bone. We gain access to the bridge of the nose using inside the nose incisions only. This allows me then to separate the skin from both, cartilage and bone and I can shave down the bump in order to achieve a straight nasal profile. I do not like "ski-slopes" for my patients. In order to maintain an elegant nose I cut the bones on the side in order to narrow them. The incisions inside are sutured using absorbable stitches.
