Hello and welcome to this video. Today, we’ll be discussing how to identify raw diamonds. We’ll cover the physical properties of raw diamonds, as well as some at-home tests you can use to determine whether a stone is a raw diamond or not. If you're ready to dive into this exciting journey, let’s begin exploring the secrets of identifying raw diamonds together. Identifying the Shape of Raw Diamonds: When extracted from the earth, raw diamonds can be recognized by several signs and characteristics. Here are some ways you can identify the shape of a raw diamond: Color and Transparency: Raw diamonds can be transparent or contain internal deformations and inclusions. Non-transparent diamonds may have these impurities, which affect their appearance. Raw diamonds often appear dull and lack luster due to the absence of polishing or cutting processes that enhance their brilliance. Shape: Raw diamonds may take on cubic, pyramidal, or other geometric forms. They commonly form in crystalline shapes such as trigonal, cubic, octahedral, or hexagonal. Amorphous or irregular shapes are less common and usually lower in value, while larger or rare shapes tend to be more valuable. Weight: Raw diamonds are relatively heavy, with a density of about 3.52 grams per cubic centimeter. So, if you find a stone that feels heavy for its size, it could be a raw diamond.
