Another year of SCOF, another fantastic traditional Sunday concert held on The Green in Devizes, featuring the one and only White's Mammoth Gavioli. As with last year, the old girl is in Optima Forma, and effortlessly breezed through even the toughest of pieces - particularly "Alice, Where Art Thou?", a strenuous test on any organ's action! Once again, I have tried to do the organ as much justice as possible with my video but of course, to really experience its versatility and power you had to have been there in person on the day of the concert, my apologies as well for the occasional bit of wind interference, although thankfully we were blessed with some ideal weather for the concert this year. Many thanks to everyone involved for staging the concert, Mr. Tom Mayhew for bringing the organ along, Jory Bennett on keyframe duty, Richard Evans for handing out the flyers, and of course Alan Roberts for organising the event in the first place! Recorded on Sunday the first of June, 2025. ~~~~~ The order of the pieces featured are as follows: ~~~~~ (0:00) Zampa - Overture (Hérold) (7:23) The Phantom Brigade (Descriptive Patrol) Op 9 (Myddleton) (11:18) Cléopâtre (Fantaisie-polka) Op 60 (Damaré) (18:07) Calanthe (Suite of Waltzes) (Holzmann) (23:07) The Miner's Dream of Home (Goodwin & Dryden) (27:19) Yes!
