Featuring Dr. Townsand Price-Spratlen, Pam Oliver, Barbara McKinney, and Mario Garcia Sierra. The session will begin with a presentation from Dr. Townsand Price-Spratlen, Associate Professor of Sociology at Ohio State University and the author of Reconstructing Rage: Transformative Reentry in the Era of Mass Incarceration, an ethnography of how a grassroots, reentry organization has nurtured sustained resistance and built community capacity with former felons. Following the presentation we have assembled a cadre of local scholars and activist to engage our guest, each other, and symposium attendees in a conversation about the alarmingly high incarceration rate of people of color in Dane County Wisconsin.
