Range: Density: 0.990 - 1.170 S.G. Sugar content: 0 - 360 go/l sugar. Potential alcohol content: 0 - 20 % vol. The uses: • To measure the specific gravity (SG) of must and wort of wine, mead, beer. • To determine progress of fermentation. • To estimate potential alcohol percentage at time of yeast pitching. • To calculate percentage of alcohol (using "before" and "after" reading To measure potential alcohol of your mead or wine, two readings will be required. The first will be before fermentation commences, the second when fermentation stops. The second figure is to be subtracted from the first; the result is your alcohol percentage by volume. Example: 1st. Reading 14% 2nd. Reading -1% Alcohol Content 13% Write down your measurements and amount of ingredients in a little notebook; it’s the best way to progress. HONEY: Raw honey is honey (nectar from flowers) that is pure, unheated, unpasteurized and unprocessed. This is perhaps one of the most important characteristics and health benefits of the final product, as it preserves all the natural vitamins, enzymes, phytonutrients and other nutritional elements The vitamins present in honey are B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, pantothenic acid and certain amino acids. The minerals found in honey include calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc.
