A new 2023 Les Paul in for a refret. The customer wanted taller frets, and does not like binding nibs. It came in without strings or a nut. The process. Remove pickup (so it's out of the way when leveling the board) Pull the frets. Level the fingerboard (remove nibs). I only went to the point of leveling where the frets rest. The binding had been rounded over by Gibson, and doing more than that would have made the side dots off center. Prep the frets by trimming the tang. Install frets. Trim the fret ends. Make a new nut, so I can mount the guitar in my string tension simulator. Dress the frets. Finish off set up. Return to the customer.
