STARLINK Un rêve galactique éphémère au-delà des étoiles du Valais Conçue comme une ouverture réunissant brass band, carillon et chœur, STARLINK se veut un hommage poétique au canton du Valais et à la symbolique de ses étoiles, à la fois célestes et identitaires. L’œuvre s’ouvre sur une première partie éthérée, où le chœur, soutenu par des percussions délicates, invite l’auditeur à pénétrer un univers galactique et mystique. Cette atmosphère suspendue évoque l’immensité de l’espace et prépare l’exposition initiale du thème principal. Celui-ci constitue un clin d’œil assumé à l’hymne valaisan « Notre Valais » réécrit en inversion (miroir). La musique laisse ensuite place à une improvisation de carillon, libre et contemplative, prolongeant cette dimension onirique et renforçant le caractère céleste de l’œuvre. Sans transition, le brass band s’impose alors avec vigueur dans une section très énergique. Une accélération brutale entraîne la musique vers l’avant, dans un élan presque irrésistible. Le thème principal réapparaît, cette fois fragmenté et ponctué d’interventions massives des cuivres graves et des percussions lourdes. Ces éléments suggèrent la présence d’objets monumentaux de l’espace — météores, amas rocheux ou barrières cosmiques — tandis que le carillon, souligné par de puissantes attaques sur les temps forts, affirme toute sa force. Un bref retour au calme, fragile et passager, précède une nouvelle accélération qui propulse l’auditeur vers un final grandiose. Dans cette conclusion, brass band, chœur et carillon s’unissent pleinement autour du thème principal, offrant une synthèse éclatante de l’univers sonore de la pièce. The work opens with an ethereal first section, in which the choir, supported by delicate percussion, invites the listener into a galactic and mystical universe. This suspended atmosphere evokes the immensity of space and prepares the initial presentation of the main theme. This theme constitutes a deliberate nod to the Wallisian anthem “Notre Valais”, rewritten in inversion (mirror form). The music then gives way to a free and contemplative carillon improvisation, extending the dreamlike dimension and further enhancing the celestial character of the work. Without transition, the brass band asserts itself forcefully in a highly energetic section. A sudden acceleration propels the music forward with an almost irresistible momentum. The main theme reappears, this time fragmented and punctuated by massive interventions from the low brass and heavy percussion. These elements suggest the presence of monumental objects in space—meteors, rocky clusters, or cosmic barriers—while the carillon, emphasized by powerful attacks on the strong beats, fully asserts its expressive strength. A brief, fragile return to calm quickly gives way to a new acceleration that hurls the listener into a grandiose finale. In this concluding section, brass band, choir, and carillon unite around the main theme, offering a radiant synthesis of the work’s sonic universe.
