XPeng ($XPEV) to Launch Flagship G9 SUV and Debuts City NGP Pilot Program

XPeng ($XPEV) has announced the launch of its fourth production model, the flagship G9 SUV. The company says that the G9 is bigger and more advanced than its G3i model and will be positioned for the medium-to-large sized smart electric SUV market. Xpeng plans to launch the new model before month end. Additionally, the company has also announced the launch of a new pilot program for its City Navigation Guided Pilot. Xpeng says the new program will make it the first Chinese auto company to launch high-level Advanced Driver Assistance System functions for complex urban driving scenarios. Chinese based customers will be able to access City NGP through over-the-air updates before launching to other cities, underscoring a key milestone in autonomous driving technology. XPeng's City NGP software features a multi-modality sensor fusion framework with cameras, LiDAR units, millimeter-wave radars, high-precision positioning units and other sensor hardware to offer a 360-degree fusion perception. XPeng is also introducing an enhanced Surrounding Reality display which is capable of visualizing a vehicle's surrounding objects and projecting them in 3D.
