THE MEMORY MARKET ..❤️❤️ new SCI -FI STORY...❤️❤️ In the city of New Caren, memories were currency. People no longer paid with money — they paid with moments. A first kiss might buy you a house. A childhood birthday could get you dinner for two. And if you were desperate, you could sell your happiest day for just one more night of comfort. Every week, people lined up at the Memory Market, waiting to trade pieces of themselves. The vendors wore white gloves and carried glass vials that glowed with color — blue for joy, gold for love, red for pain, silver for dreams. Once a memory was sold, it disappeared forever. The person could never recall it again. Noah was one of the “memory restorers” — rare specialists who could trace and re-stitch fragments that had been broken. His job was to fix people who had lost too much of who they were. But Noah himself carried a secret: he had no memories before age twenty. He’d sold them all to pay for his sister’s medical treatment — a decision he couldn’t remember making. One afternoon, a woman came to his office carrying a single vial — faintly glowing silver. “I bought this at the market,” she said. “But I think it belongs to you.” He frowned. “That’s not possible.” “Then why,” she asked softly, “do you look like the man in the memory?” He placed the vial in the reader. The room filled with sound — laughter, waves, sunlight — and then he saw it: himself, standing on a beach, holding a woman’s hand. Her face was blurred by static, but her voice was clear: “Promise me, if we ever forget each other, we’ll find our way back through the memories.” Noah staggered back. “Who are you?” The woman in front of him whispered, “I’m trying to remember.” She opened a small box — inside were dozens of vials, all silver, all marked with his name. Each one held a piece of the life they had once shared — a love erased by choice to survive a world that traded memory for safety. As they watched the vials glow brighter, one by one, the lights of the city outside began to flicker — because too many people were remembering at once. The Memory Market collapsed that night. Every traded moment returned to its owner. The next morning, no one remembered how the world had changed — only that something inside them felt full again. And somewhere by the ocean, a man and a woman sat quietly, side by side, unable to name each other, but smiling like they’d known each other forever. #story #short #scifi #future Facebook page / 1nfzexcbzh Tiktok link https://www.tiktok.com/@sahanperera69...
