Elliot S! Maggin is a legendary Bronze Age DC Comic Book writer, specializing in Superman stories. So who better to ask what Superman means to people? Elliot S. Maggin has written Superman stories across five decades. Here in his own voice what the character meant to him as a child, and now as an adult and eminent Superman writer. Not only was Elliot Maggin one of the main superman writers at DC Comics for years, he's had a successful career writing novels/books and and even live action and cartoons for television. He wrote scripts for the Superboy live action TV series, and also you can hear him in another video on this channel talking about writing for classic 90s cartoons, Batman: The Animated Series and Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Maggin has had a stellar career and is one of the most respected writers of his generation. So it was a treat to interview such an esteemed Superman writer, and knowing what superheroes mean, mythically, as literature, and for personal reasons for people, I wanted to ask him what the most iconic superhero meant to Elliot S! Maggin. This video interview with Maggin offers a rare glimpse into comic book history from a writer who was there back in the Bronze Age of comic books. / herojournalism / 4cade1 / herojournalism
