Dr Daniel Sobrino Ralston, CEEH Associate Curator of Spanish Paintings at the National Gallery, gives an introductory lecture about our landmark exhibition, 'José María Velasco: A View of Mexico'. Daniel traces the course of Velasco's career, looking at how the artist's work brings together episodes of history, both national and natural, to tell a story about the enduring image of Mexico. Daniel also takes a close look at some of Velasco's best-known paintings.
