He stated that a portion of the office structure built outside his ancestral residence, along with the adjoining parking area and gate, was demolished by the district administration in the presence of heavy police deployment. Speaking to Auzar TV, Khaira alleged that no prior notice was issued to him, nor was he given any opportunity for a hearing before the demolition was carried out. He maintained that the property belongs legally to his family, which, according to him, has been residing there for over 200 years. He further asserted that he possesses complete documentary proof of ownership and that no part of the property is unauthorized. Khaira accused Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann of acting out of political vendetta and alleged that dissenting voices are being targeted. He also claimed that the action was influenced by the leadership of the Aam Aadmi Party, including its national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. According to Khaira, the village was effectively turned into a police cantonment during the operation, which he described as an attack on democratic rights and freedom of expression. He announced that he would soon approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking legal remedy against what he termed an unlawful demolition and vowed to pursue the matter until justice is served. Several local residents, including the village Sarpanch and other prominent community members, were present at the site and expressed their solidarity with Khaira, describing the action as unjust and high-handed.
