Day 327 #PandaStory: Xiao Qi Ji and Mei Xiang had just come indoors around 9am this morning. Mei Xiang was partaking treats from her feeder, with a little bit of help from our bestest lil' pest. On his way to the pool he discovers a carrot ... but it doesn't look like he's a big fan! In the pool he discovers what has to be an apple or part of an apple, and while Mei is distracted eating other treats he settles in and nibbles on it. Mei heads his way but first stops to eat her carrot, before she uses her size to seize the apple from Qi Ji's clutches! A bit later they were happily eating bamboo side by side as Qi Ji shows off his boo eating skills, fisting a leaf or two in his palm. Then, with the door closed between room 2 and 3, they both rest on room 2's rockwork ... and that is the scene of the day ... seeing them so peaceful and restful brings joy to all. You can tell when the door between the rooms opens as they both move their heads, but it's Qi Ji that reacts first and heads to room 3 where he discovers a weeble shaped treat feeder that he pretty much bypasses in favor of the yellow jug ... and while it's not the way you usually get treats out of a feeder, Qi Ji knocks the jug off the rockwork ledge and voila ... treats! (Shortly after this he settled down around 9:30am for his morning nap by his door). Around 12:15pm the cam focuses back indoors to show Mei eating bamboo and Qi Ji eating (what I assume) treats. But then Xiao Qi Ji decides to adorably pester his mother Mei Xiang as she tries to indulge in one of her favorite things ... fresh bamboo! As she moved between the rooms, but especially when she settled into room 2's playpen (that lasted 25 minutes), Qi Ji was all over her ... she tried to hold him off with her front paw by pinning him to the rockwork, she nibbled his leg as he climbed up the rocks to yet again attack her from above. Afterward, they did take a brief break on rockwork 2, resting close together, until Qi Ji, who lacks for situational awareness sometimes, tumbled off the rockwork! After a bit more climbing on Mei's head in room 3, he settles down for his afternoon nap fairly quickly just after 2pm.
