In the sixth episode of Price Week, Dr. Robert M. Price joins us to discuss his book titled Bart Ehrman Interpreted: How One Radical New Testament Scholar Understands Another. Arguably no scholar in the 21st century has had more of an impact on public discussion and debate over the historical Jesus and the development of early Christianity than distinguished professor of religious studies, Bart D. Ehrman. He has introduced many new readers to crucial questions of biblical criticism in a series of bestselling books. In Bart Ehrman Interpreted, theologian and writer Robert M. Price evaluates Ehrman’s body of work. Taking a collegial approach and rejecting polemics, Price defends Ehrman’s writing against conservative attacks but also suggests a number of points at which Ehrman may be insufficiently or inconsistently critical. No matter one's views toward Ehrman, Bart Ehrman Interpreted will prompt much fruitful and positive discussion of his important work and of the popular and scholarly debates that surround it. Dr. Robert McNair Price received his Bachelors at the Montclair State University in 1976, he then went on to receive his Master of Theological Studies in the New Testament from the Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in 1978, and then he received his PhD in Systematic Theology in 1981 and another 1991 at Drew University. He also was a pastor of the First Baptist Church in Montclair, New Jersey. He also served as Professor of Religion at Mount Olive College. Dr. Price challenges the consensus on the dating of the Pauline Epistles, the authenticity of those Epistles and the historical Jesus. He rejects that Paul wrote the Pauline Epistles and he upholds the Mythicist position that Jesus likely did not exist as a historical figure. https://www.amazon.com/Bart-Ehrman-In...
