Interview – Prof. Ian Frazer – How can innovation advance cancer control equitably?

In this interview prof. Ian Frazer, a clinician-scientist and immunologist, whose work with Dr Jian Zhou led to the development of a vaccine that prevents infection with HPV and cervical cancer discusses the innovation landscape in cancer. He highlights the importance of encouraging research in a variety of areas and talks about immunotherapy, therapeutic cancer vaccines and the future of genomics. He discusses reducing the global cancer burden, talks about access to treatment outside of high-income settings and explores challenges and opportunities for the HPV vaccine to advance health equity globally.
