Twitter: / keyboardosrs FAQ’s: What client are you using?: Runelite What’s that annoying tick sound?: Runelite metronome plugin. It makes a sound every in-game tick, which allows you to time your clicks better. How do you get the respawn timer?: Runelite NPC indicators plugin What’s the ‘unaggressive area’?: This post explains it well: / 9z2j07 I use the runelite plugin “NPC Aggression Timer” to visual the ‘unaggressive area’ -------------------- The 0xp method was theory crafted and discovered by Jonas and his partner in September 2017 - by sending your attack request within 1 tick before the monster spawns, you will attack on the same tick that it spawns. For some reason, you don’t gain combat xp in this tick. Thanks to Bea5 for letting me know about the emerald bolts (e) method. -------------------- kill credit notes: The skiller must deal non-zero damage to get the kill credit and get the loot. If another player deals non-zero damage, the kill credit for the ironman skiller is lost. Poison damage is ‘neutral damage’, so it doesn’t affect an ironman’s kill credit. Emerald bolts (e) let you poison with a 0 successful hit, so it doesn’t affect the kill credit. If the monster regens to full hp, the kill credit for that monster is lost. Edit: Minor mistake - The chance of poisoning on a successful hit increases to 48.2%, not 42.8%. oops! Here’s an infographic on how this was calculated: https://imgur.com/a/y37mfDW -------------------- Gear choice notes: The emerald bolts (e) method is better than the cannon method at flesh crawlers (1 in 9 compared to 1 in 12.6). I didn't know about this method at the time. Bone dagger is the same as an iron dagger. Bronze spear on the crush controlled attack style is better than an iron dagger at catablepons, as they are weaker to crush. At catablepons, I made sure my attack and strength were boosted to 4+ since my max hit increases to 2, increasing the chance of dealing non-zero damage on a successful hit. At ankous, it’s required to use p+ or greater as they have higher hp. I used a bone dagger p+ on attack combat style. At ankous, I made sure my attack and strength were boosted to 5+ since my max hit increases to 2. The alt uses sara brews to reduce its range lvl to 2 to have a max hit of 2, increasing the chance of a 0 successful hit. -------------------- Tips on how to minimise accidental combat xp: If you don't feel 100% confident in a certain attempt, just let the monster spawn, let the alt kill the monster while you keep the interface window open on the skiller and then try again with the same interface. Only do this if the monster won’t attack you, i.e the aggression timer has ran out, otherwise it will cancel your interface and bad things might happen, especially with the cannon method. practice on an alt - it could be a throwaway lvl 3 f2p, and you can practice the cannon method on a main. It took me a while to be confident in getting the timing right. When doing the melee method in single-way combat, the alt should be in combat with the monster so that if you mess up the interface stall, you won’t attack the monster on the skiller. Make sure you have the “highlight menu names” option enabled in the NPC Indicators plugin – If a second catablepon walks on the highlighted catablepon, you want to make sure you’re clicking attack on the correct catablepon. I messed up once by leaving the right click menu open for a while and clicked attack on the wrong catablepon, which in the meantime walked towards me, not giving me enough time to open an interface. Luckily, I missed. Make sure to kill the target monster a few times on an alt to make sure the runelite npc respawn timer is correct – a monster may walk in the same tick that it spawns, meaning the respawn timer may not be showing on the correct tile. Killing the monster a few times should sort this out. Listen to the runelite metronome plugin– It makes it much easier to time your attack. You should click exactly 1 tick before it spawns. This also gives you a feel for how reliable your connection to the server is. If you hear infrequent ticks, try a different world or try outside of peak hours (try between 05:00UTC-15:00UTC). The world can pause for a second, so if you ever hear ticks that are missing, the respawn timer can go out of sync. DO NOT continue with the attempted kill. To re-sync, you must restart the npc indicators plugin. Exit out of combat asap by clicking away to safety 1 tick after you close the interface – This reduces the amount of time you are vulnerable to a dc which could kill your character. Keep an eye on your ping using the “display current ping” option in the World Hopper plugin on runelite. If your ping is high, your attack request may be sent too late. You must have at least 1 prayer point for the prayer interface to open.
