V2.6 has several improvements and refinements that will improve various operational aspects. Auto shutdown on non-Victron communicating systems has been deleted. Previously if the battery detected no activity for 48 hours the battery would auto-shutdown. Relaxed battery start-up load criteria. Previously the battery was sensitive to loads being present during start up. This has been relaxed, and batteries can be turned on with up to 20 amps present per battery. However, it is still preferred to secure all loads prior to powering the battery on, then introduce loads. Improved charge parameters and a revamped full charge protection that allows for additional capacity in both Victron controlled and standalone charging. This will also eliminate the charge mosfet shutting down during the charge cycle. Improved Victron GX DVCC communication protocol that will result in smoother cycling through all phases of the charge cycle. Batteries employed in non-Victron systems should utilize an absorption voltage of 14.2 volts with an absorption time of a minimum of 15 minutes per battery. 13.5 volts float voltage (x2 for 24 volt, x4 for 48 volt). Equalization off, no temperature compensation. To use the V2 Elite with Victron systems. Set up the battery comm harness and gauge as follows: Plug with waterproof bung plugged into master blue port. RJ45 cable out of master black port and into slave1 blue port. RJ45 cable out of slave1 black port and into slave blue port and so on to daisy chain up to 16 batteries in parallel. Set dips as per manual. Plug in grey RJ45 plug into the Cerbo or Ekrano GX BMS CAN port or if you have the new Cerbo Mk2 plug grey plug inot VE-CAN1 or VE-CAN 2 and change the VE can port speed to 500 KBPS LV. To confirm proper reporting, go to the GX/touch screen and confirm the Epoch battery shows up on the device list. Click on the battery line, go to Details. Check to see the number of modules online is equal to the number of batteries installed. Check that the number of AH is equal to the number of AH installed. In the GX device/touch screen turn on DVCC, set controlling BMS to Epoch, set battery monitor to Epoch. The system should say External Control on the GX touch screen Inverter tile when charging (but not while inverting). The system will automatically cycle to 14.2 volts with an absorption time of a minimum of roughly 15 minutes per battery followed by 13.5 volts float voltage (x2 for 24 volt, x4 for 48 volt). It is recommended to manually program the Multiplus, Quattro and all other charge source to these same parameters in case of CAN communication loss. Over time there will be additional refinements and improvements as needed.
