Turkey begins production of Gürz 150 system as competitor to Russia's Pantsir-S1, combining hard-kill and soft-kill capabilities. he Gürz 150 hybrid air defense system developed by Turkey’s Aselsan company has reportedly entered production. The system is being touted as a potential competitor to Russia’s Pantsir-S1 system . The Gürz 150 was first introduced globally at the international defense exhibition World Defense Show 2024 in Saudi Arabia. As a modern air defense system, the Gürz 150 is capable of operating autonomously, evaluating threats and assigning weapons through its fire control algorithms. The company says the system offers advantages over the Pantsir-S1 . The Gürz 150 combines hard-kill capabilities for point defense, including a 35 mm automatic cannon and is capable of firing short-range Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan surface-to-air missiles . The system also includes soft-kill capabilities using the Kangal electronic warfare system for electromagnetic jamming and spoofing. The system's sensor suite includes an AESA radar, IFF capability, an integrated tracking platform, and an electro-optical targeting suite for target detection and engagement. Mounted on an 8X8 wheeled tactical vehicle, the Gürz 150 is designed for mobility and rapid deployment. Another advantage is that the system can fire in a moving position.
