9 weeks after ACL replacement surgery, I went on my first big bike ride to the Olympic Hot Springs. The road to the hot springs is closed to vehicle traffic indefinitely due to a road washout, which makes it a perfect route for riding a bike on the old paved road. The 22-mile round trip ride included mostly overgrown pavement and some trails, with lots of down trees and creek crossings. I was super careful navigating the uneven terrain and preserved my knee recovery with no incidents and very minimal pain during just the beginning of the ride.
