This is the second part of our 7-part Lake Michigan Circle Tour, a loop road trip that starts and ends in Chicago and travels clockwise through Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Indiana around Mishigami, the only Great Lake fully within the United States. We fight some driving October rains for much of the day, but enjoy some local ciders and have better luck with weather the farther north we get. After exploring Peninsula State Park, at the northern tip of the Door Peninsula between Lake Michigan and Green Bay, we take the car ferry to Washington Island.
