Batukeshwar Dutt, a prominent figure in India's fight for independence, passed away on July 20, 1965. Born on November 18, 1910, Dutt is best remembered for his daring act on April 8, 1929, when he, alongside Bhagat Singh, threw a bomb in the Parliament House. This act of defiance aimed to make a statement against British rule without causing harm. Imprisoned for life and sent to the dreaded Kala Pani, Dutt conducted historic hunger strikes in 1933 and 1937. Released in 1938, he was re-arrested in 1940 and finally freed in 1945. After independence, he resided in Patna, Bihar. Upon his death, he was cremated at Hussainiwala in Punjab, alongside his fellow revolutionaries Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, and Sukhdev. Dutt's legacy as a freedom fighter remains etched in history, symbolizing resistance and sacrifice. . . . #thisdayinhistory #onthisday #july20 Download Ritam App using the following links 👇 Android: http://bit.ly/TheRitamApp iOS: apple.co/2IX3Nij Subscribe to our channels 👇 / @ritamenglishnews / @ritamenglishopinion / @ritamenglishlegacylegends Connect with us on Social Media 👇 / ritamenglish / ritamenglish https://x.com/EnglishRitam
