When South Sudan was on the brink of becoming a country in 2011, Dr. Africa Stewart met a couple who'd walked from the north to the south of Sudan to find freedom and medical care. Even though Dr. Stewart had to tell them their unborn baby was no longer alive, they were still happy - even joyful - that they could now bury their baby in a free land. Dr. Stewart has gone on several assignments with Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) to provide obstetric care to displaced people in South Sudan.
