In this video Im showcasing the 'World Editor' feature for Tiny Castles. The World Editor is a dev tool that allows me to quickly upload sprites for new assets, set their walking mask, set the costs for the asset, and then create or edit buildings that use the asset. The goal of World Editor is to quickly create new assets and buildings without needing to touch code. The graphics you see are placeholders. About Tiny Castles: Tiny Castles is another game idea I've had in my head for a long time. The general concept is that once the server/map is running, it never stops running. Rounds continue even when you're offline. Tiny Castles will be a combination of cozy city builder (Sim City, RCT2) intwined with RTS elements similar to AOE, Tropico, and SC. Build your base, please your citizens, and grow the history of your people. Or push out, risk displeasing your citizens as you seek to claim new territory and expand into the unknown. Defense and Offense, Peace and War, RTS and City Building. These two opposing experiences marry together in Tiny Castles as Yin and Yang, fire and water, love and war. The fuel that drives your progess is the people of your towns, are they happy? Do they disagree with your design decisions, your political actions, your acts of war? You could find your population dropping as your people migrate away for a better quality of life. Or you may thrive with a booming population with wonders that world will envy. I am building this game for one simple reason: this is the game I have always wanted to play and no one has made it yet.
