Dutton claims Labor, Greens government will place ‘upward pressure’ on cost of living

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says the “worst” thing Australia can have is a Labor and Greens-aligned spending government after the election which creates upward pressure on interest rates affecting the cost of living for all. “It is reflective of the broader population in Australia at the moment … people in tears, people who have taken their kids out of school … we should be doing everything we can to provide support, but we need to do it in a way that is not inflationary,” Mr Dutton said.   Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Opposition Leader Peter Dutton faced off in the first debate of the federal election campaign in the Sky News/Daily Telegraph People’s Forum.
