After draining the old fluid, I carefully refilled it with the premium Amsoil 100% synthetic ATF, known for its superior protection and performance. It's designed to improve shifting and extend the life of the transmission. Once everything was sealed up, I took the car for a test drive... Note: This 4th gen RAV4's transmission total fluid capacity is 6.9 quarts. Draining the fluid from the drain plug only drains less than 3 quarts that's why I drained more from the hose (not recommended). Thus it is crucial that the two fluids are compatible (can be safely mixed). Now I have almost a 50/50 mix of Amsoil 100% synthetic and WS ATF.
