In this video we are highlighting the history of Jamdani and we call it Behind the Monohari. Since the 500-year history of Bangladesh, Jamdani is one of the most popular clothes. UNESCO has named Jamdani as a heritage of Bangladesh. BGMEA is working on Bangladeshi heritage products Jamdani, Manipur, Khadi etc. Research is going on how to present the indigenous cloth to the world. BGMEA is working tirelessly. At one time only sarees were made from jamdani, which was only spread in a small range. But nowadays various types of clothes are made from Jamdani. Mentionable among them is the western dress. Which will bring Jamdani to the court of the world. The role of Jamdani in the economy of Bangladesh is different.
