Trains at Paleofarsalos region, Southern Thessaly - September 2014.

Thessaly...the most flat region of the country and a place that anything can happen. The great valley of central Hellas with its interesting history. Paleofarsalos, one of the most major stations of the main line, is located at Stavros village, 15km west of Farsala. Untill 1998 there were two different gauges that were met at Paleofarsalos station, the standard gauge line of Athens-Thessaloniki route and the meter gauge line of Volos-Kalabaka. Since then the part of the old meter gauge line between the station of "Palios" - as the railroad men are calling Palefoarsalos - and Kalabaka was replaced by a new standard gauge one. In the video you see shots from the station and from Heperia region (near Orfana), a part of the main line in Thessaly where "Hellas Sprinters" are running at speed. As i mentioned at the first lines, in Thessaly everything can take place.
