@Nigeria www.medaccessindia.com +919823226011 (Free Medical Opinion from India's Best Doctors) Complex Case Management by Med Access India Patient Prof Richard Okafor: Patient Prof Richard Okafor visited USA this year, it is when he underwent comprehensive health check there and was found to be having prostate and liver cancer. He also had three fainting instances and was advised to undergo cardiac check-up too. He had prostate surgery (TURP) in 2006 in Nigeria and was also treated for Hepatitis C. Prof. was referred to Med Access by his doctor in Nigeria It was a complex case where all the major organs were involved and it was indeed a challenging case for Med Access. However, we were confident that Med Access innovative “Patient-centric Treatment Management Process” will help the patient to achieve the best outcome, safely. Diagnosis Management: As a part of the standard process, it was decided that all the investigations related to heart, liver and prostate will be completed first. Therefore, initial consultations with the selected best cardiologists, urologists and hepatologists were done and investigations related to heart, liver and prostate including liver and prostate biopsies were completed on OPD basis. Heart Problem Management: First, heart problem was taken up. Med Access selected the very best cardiologists and sought three opinions, two of them suggested that the patient will benefit from pace maker surgery and one of them felt that there is no immediate need for this surgery. However, the consultations with the patient, patient doctor in Nigeria and the patient’s family, it was decided to go ahead with the surgery. As the patient was having multiple health issues and taking into account any future requirements for MRI, it was decided to use MRI compliant dual chamber pacemaker. The surgery went very well and the patient was back in his apartment the next day. Liver Problem: The liver biopsy report was negative and there was no cancer or cirrhosis. The doctor advised that the patient should repeat CT scan once in three months with liver function test to be repeated once in two months. Prostate problem: The patient was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Orchidectomy surgery was done. During the netire treatment process, the patient visited 5 hospitals and consulted 9 doctors. The patient spent only three days in the hospital, one day for pacemaker surgery and one day for orchidectomy. According to the patient he felt that he is on a holiday and his family never believed that he was in the hospital only for 3 days. Prof Richard Okafor has reached home safely and has sent a note saying “he has returned safely to Nigeria after a successful medical trip to India. Thank you so much for what MED ACCESS did for us. May God bless all of you” Prof Richard Okafor http://medaccessindia.com
