This one is about making your plan work for you by getting onto practice races during the 30 weeks. A simple rule - build up - Sprint, Middle, Long Course Weekend. (Also called short, half Ironman, full distances) A LCW is a full distance but split over three days that allows you to take a break in between and figure things out whilst achieving the needed distances! Talked about is pricing. It's expensive enough as it is and to add more events is a killer! I'm not going to name any over others as a simple Google search near where you live will show many results. Work around the dates correlating to your plan. Take a year prior to jumping onto an Ironman to 'play around', testing the waters and reducing any concerns or worries. It took me years to figure things out but the cost was the main factor, with needing to be fair to my family!
