This talk, based on Bhagavad Gita, was delivered by Poojya Swami Bhoomananda Tirtha for Arsha Yoga Gurukulam. The intelligence and mind continuously perceive the input of our senses. These interactions with the external world always produce the outcomes of good and bad, happy and sad, likes and dislikes. We are often overwhelmed by the strength of these dualities. Yoga enables us to remain in a state of equilibrium by anchoring our mind to the Self rather than our perceptions of happiness and unhappiness. But what is Yoga? In this discourse, Poojya Swamiji explains the basic meaning and concepts of Yoga, as presented by Sri Krishna to Arjuna in Bhagavad Gita. He demonstrates how all our activities and experiences can be transformed into Yoga. Swamiji also discusses, in detail, the practice of meditation. Swamiji emphasizes the importance of practicing this Yoga during all the waking hours, rather than confining Yoga to a certain time of day. This is important to maintain a balance amidst life’s joys and hardships. This is the process by which you will live and perform joyfully.
