Just weeks after killing the air cooled Sportster after a 70 year run, a Chinese company called Shineray began showing off their version of the 1200 Evo engine. Now, their Italian subsidiary SWM is marketing a bike called the Stormbreaker 1200 which happens to be an exact copy of an Evo Sportster. Harley claimed they killed the air cooled engine because it wouldn't meet European emission standards, but here it is being produced in Italy for the European and Asian markets. Did Shineray engineers outsmart the guys at HD? Or, was there a back door deal to package up the entire Sportster production line and sell it to the highest bidder.
