Virtua Fighter 3 arcade board w/ Sega Genesis controller

A complete play-through of Virtua Fighter 3 running on an actual Model 3 board using a Sega Genesis controller. I built the most absurdly impractical decoder for the Sega Genesis 6-button controller entirely out of TTL logic and a 555 timer chip. It seems to work on its own but when I hooked it up to my Model 3 board, I damaged both of my controllers. They still work in 3-button mode, which means I was unable to map the Escape button or the service and test buttons. To enter and exit the service menu, you can see me touching loose wires to ground. Next month, I intend to build a simpler MCU-based circuit, perhaps with protection diodes, that will hopefully work with all 6 buttons.
