Gregory H. Watson is the first non-Japanese individual to receive the W. Edwards Deming medal from the Union of Japanese Scientists and Engineers (2009). He is also a recipient of the highest award of the American Society for Quality - the Distinguished Service Medal (2011) and the highest award of the European Organization for Quality - the Georges Borel Medal (2013). Greg is considered a pioneer in the Six Sigma movement for participating in the early development while Director of Corporate Quality at Compaq. He earned his MBB from Mikel Harry in 1998 while acting as Deployment Champion for introduction of Six Sigma at Nokia Mobile Phones. while ASQ President, he was the initiator of the ASQ Six Sigma Black Belt certification. He is also the author of over 10 publications, and has had long-term assignments with companies such as HP, Xerox, ExxonMobil, and Toshiba.
