Kingdom Hearts 3 - Zero EXP Part 1: Lump of Horror

Level 1 / Zero EXP Proud Mode No Stat Boosters (including AP Boosts) Hoo boy, look who hasn't uploaded since early October. It's a long story that nobody is interested in hearing, but life's been really busy and equally tiring, and as a logical continuation of a very sparse upload schedule (think a couple uploads on a lucky month) all activity ceased on this channel for an unprecedentedly long period of time for the first time in this channel's 11+ years of existence (will be 12 years this summer). I haven't been coping well and actually I've been thinking how getting back into the routine of running upload series on this channel may help with things that concern me most these days. Life's wildly different now that I'm not at all the same teenager who set this channel up back in 2007, with this channel being seemingly the only thing that's been static in my life during this lengthy period of time. I haven't had the energy or space (time too to an existent) to work on any of the challenges I'd like to dedicate myself to, and most of the gaming I've done has been stuff on the mobile while commuting to work and the like. I wonder what kind of videos people expect to see from me these days, if anybody is actually around and expects anything of me. The last Pokemon 0 exp run (I hope to set more of these up on the Switch later this year, but how feasible this is I have no fucking idea) is not far from being finished, but what I have to do first is complete the Awakening 0 exp LTC, which I think would be of interest to most others too? However, what got me back into gaming was the release of KH3. I've derived great enjoyment out of playing KH1, KH2, BBS and DDD (just these four) at various points of my life, never really getting good at the games (you won't find any other KH videos on this channel for that reason) but trying to get into the story (with less success beginning with the 2nd game) and just getting a kick out of the combat which got really good with KH2. KH3 is... great, really, all shortcomings aside. It's what I wanted to play and while the story was a disappointment (albeit not an entirely unexpected one) the combat offered immense enjoyment with the sheer amount of stuff to try out and master. Olympus, Toy Box and Caribbean are incredible worlds that I don't think have an equivalent in terms of quality in the series, and most other worlds other than Winnie's are at least decent design-wise. After I finished the storyline normally, I abstained from going on about the run and started a Level 1 file instead. For the first time ever too! It seemed to make more sense to start seriously collecting all the stuff I'd missed (and I think there were worlds where I didn't find a single Lucky Emblem on my first run) on a challenge file. So I'm gonna upload a bunch of KH3 highlights from this challenge and hopefully this will remind me what uploading and typing up a description is like (feels great right now, not unlike finding your long lost brother) are like, and then I intend to get myself in the mood for finishing Awakening and other stuff. Let's see if it works after a nigh-half-a-year hiatus! With none of the friends that surrounded me when I began this channel around anymore doing the same vids, I've had to draw motivation from within, and I'm actually surprised it took me 11 years to run out of steam under the ever brutal pressure of IRL. So, this KH3 run. It's a lot of fun. The first three worlds were mostly easy and while I recorded some of the bosses from there (something like a month or two ago), I decided I wouldn't be sharing them. Bad (imho) playing and a general absence of difficulty would be the reasons. In a way, this run has been a way for me to finally improve my KH skills and I think this is the first video I've recorded that doesn't suck? I must say I've had to grind quite a bit as these challenges often require. Farming enemies for their drops to synthesise things, smashing meteors for items like Adamantite to upgrade keyblades, also getting every single chest and lucky emblem with the help of the INTERNET (PowerPyx's guides have been the most effective for me so far), collecting i-n-g-r-e-d-i-e-n-t-s. If it weren't for getting really high-end items from lucky emblem hunting, cuisine and keyblade upgrades, I would be doing chip damage to bosses and in fact most enemies. With all these things being there, I seem to be doing just fine this far into the game? Lump of Horror looks like the first boss that's actually hard and even then knowing to dodge or block its repeated rush attacks seems to make it relatively safe for a reckless inexperienced player such as myself? Ever After is my keyblade of choice for most of the fight, powering up magic that seems to hurt the boss the most, with the transformed form being nice at physical attacks too - they're ranged and hit hard even despite the low strength. I do switch to Favourite Deputy when out of MP. Arendelle's boss is next!
