Interestingly enough, there are many different types of Kimchi available in Korea. Guess what, how many kinds of kimchi in Korea? Hundreds of Kimchi. For example, nappa cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, cucumber kimchi, chive kimchi, green onion kimchi, perilla leaf kimchi etc. Kimchi was also recognized as one of the healthiest food by Health magazine in America. Today, I am going to introduce a very simple type of Kimchi, called Makkimchi in Korean. How to Make Authentic Mak Kimchi at Home | 막김치 Ingredients 1 medium size nappa cabbage (about 5 lbs) 1 onion 1 pear 10 cloves of garlic a bit of ginger, some green onions 7 Tbsp of red pepper flakes 7 Tbsp of fish sauce 1 Tbsp of honey 1 Tbsp of flour 1 Tbsp of sesame seed 1/2 c of coarse salt 150 ml (10 Tbsp) water 재료들 중간크기 배추 하나 양파 1 개 배 1개 마늘 10개 생강 조금 쪽파 한줌 고추가루 7 큰술 액젓 7 큰술 꿀 1 큰술 밀가루 1큰술 깨소금 1 큰술 천일염 반컵 물 150 ml How to make Kimchi salad, How to make Makkimchi (막김치) Step 1: Cutting and brining the nappa cabbage Cut it in half from the top. Cut only 1/3 of the nappa cabbage with a knife, and split the rest with your hands. Remove the root part. Cut the nappa cabbage into bite-size pieces. Wash the chopped cabbage 1 to 2 times. Then sprinkle salt. Brine it for about an hour. After 30 minutes, flip it over once. Step 2: Making Kimchi sauce prep.: Make Kimchi paste. Grind 1 pear, 1 onion, 10 cloves of garlic, and some ginger in the mixer Step 3: Making Kimchi sauce: In a large bowl, put the ground pear, onion, garlic, and ginger. Add flour paste, add 7 Tbsp of red pepper flakes, 7 Tbsp of fish sauce, 1 Tbsp of honey, 1 Tbsp of sesame seed, sliced onions, and green onions.
