Surah Ash-Shu‘ara (The Poets) Ash-Shu‘ara (ِArabic: الْشُّعَرَاء) is the 26th chapter (Surah) of the Quran consisting of 227 verses. The chapter talks about various prophets and their tribes. Also how the disbelievers were destroyed after threatening prophets with death. It also talks about the mercy of God (Allah). This surah starts with the story of Moses, followed by that of Abraham. The non-believers were asking for signs to prove that the Qur'an was the word of Allah. Allah mentioned many signs both in nature and in history. Stories of many prophets are also mentioned to indicate that all prophets presented basically the same message.
