Sometimes for a trauma patient, the best treatment for a patient doesn’t require an operation. Sometimes, the operation can result in worse patient outcomes. Recommendations are changing for management of these injuries. Is your patient hemodynamically stable or unstable? Have you used a treatment algorithm for this patient?
