musica intima, the Philippine Madrigal Singers and Andrew Balfour perform Balfour's Omaa Biindig. As both groups toured, we overlapped for a few days in Montréal, and carved out an hour to meet, share songs, and join together on Balfour's beautiful 'Omaa Biindig' - a piece on both ensembles touring programs. The work was recorded live in one take on Wednesday, May 14, at Église Sainte-Catherine-de-Sienne; located on the lands and waters of Tiohtià:ke - which has long served as a place for many first nations to live, meet and exchange - lands stewarded by the Kanien’kehá:ka (Mohawk) nation.
