The Grammy-winning singer, guitarist and composer joined us during the world premiere of the dance musical Arrabal (running Feb 4 to April 20 at Toronto's Panasonic Theatre) for a special screening of Ang Lee's Academy Award-winning drama, for which he received an Oscar for Best Original Score. Gustavo Santaolalla is a Grammy- and Academy Award-winning singer, guitarist and composer. He established himself as one of the main creative forces in the early Argentine rock nacional movement of the '60s before moving into films. His soundtrack credits include films with such acclaimed directors as Alejandro González Iñárritu (Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel) and Walter Salles (The Motorcycle Diaries, On the Road), and Ang Lee (Brokeback Mountain, for which he composed the score and received an Oscar for Best Original Score). He most recently completed the score for John Wells' August: Osage County, and the dance musical Arrabal, running February 4 to April 20 at Toronto's Panasonic Theatre. http://tiff.net
