We headed out over the Yamba Bar in my 4.2m tinny chasing sharks, but on the low tide the swell was standing up hard. Short, sharp, choppy — the kind of bounce that tells you to pull back and respect it. So we turned around and waited it out for a safer window. Once it flattened a bit, we pushed back out and crossed safely… but the ocean still wasn’t done with us. The leftover bounce had Jenna feeling crook, and she ended up getting seasick, so we made the call to head back in. No fish is worth pushing through when someone’s not feeling well. Next morning I reset and hit the Clarence River instead — and the river absolutely delivered. A clean Jewfish (Silver Ghost) and a stack of bream turned the whole mission around. That’s fishing… some days the ocean sends you home, the next day she pays you back for showing up. Thanks for riding along — make sure to like, comment, and subscribe to help Anchorhead grow.
