In today's session, I'll be taking a hard look at edges. Actually, a soft look. A lot of painters don't realise how much careful edge control helps to make paintings come alive. I'm always advising my students to use more soft edges - that vast majority of people paint with their edges too hard. Too often, every edge is hard. So today, I'm going to demonstrate how you can easily fix that problem and change the way you look at edges forever. I'll be painting every edge soft. And then just hardening a little here and there, the minimum I need to make the painting work. I think you'll be surprised how little it takes. The app I use to investigate the colour is called ChromaMagic. You can find it on the Apple and Google Play stores, and there is also a Windows version. It's very inexpensive and extremely useful!
