Rydal Waterfalls walk.....

A hot and sticky walk from Rydal-hall, cross the road bridge over the stream....go through the campsite and follow the signpost alongside the stream uphill.....there are many small waterfalls within a very short distance(1mile) its a very picturesque trail, turning right through woodland(after 1mile) until you reach a wall with a stone steps, cross the wall and rejoin a broader path heading slightly uphill out of the woodland. We were looking for Buckstones-jump a hidden plunge-pool......after another half mile or so you will go through a gap in a dry-stone wall the path continues on but instead go immediately left up over the small hill the plunge-pool will come into view on the other side(we missed this turn and continued straight on, you cannot see or hear the plunge pool at the wall so its easy to miss, because of this we ended up 2miles away beneath the Fairfield horseshoe causing a huge argument as the path just stops and there is no way forward....we headed back in silence through bogs and cattle, realising the mistake when we got back to the hole in the wall and eventually finding the plunge-pool. I didnt film it because there were a few families and children swimming and I was still seething from the schoolboy navigation error lol.)
