N6018X, a 1960 Mooney M20A would suffer a gear up landing at KMIC Crystal Airport in Crystal, Minnesota. The gear up event occurred on November 10 2007 at 15:57 and had come out of repair on March 26 2007 from a previous gear up landing. Maintenance was performed on the aircraft the previous day per the aircraft logbook. From the video it appears the pilot was attempting several times to get the gear down in the proper position and it was not happening. Does anyone have any additional information on either of these two gear up landings? Also, I don't think I saw anything in the 2013 accident report on the 11/10/2007 gear up landing event which seems odd there was no mention. On March 28 2013, this aircraft would suffer a fatal accident near Wikieup, Arizona. https://data.ntsb.gov/Docket?ProjectI... NTSB probable cause and findings: The manufacture and installation of a nonstandard part by unknown maintenance personnel to compensate for a bent, misaligned crankshaft propeller flange, which resulted in the improper clearance of the bearings on the crankshaft journal, a loss of oil pressure, overheating of the bearings, and the failure of a connecting rod during cruise flight. It appears per images from the aircraft logbook within the NTSB report, that the plane suffered two gear up incidents. 3/26/2007 - "Aircraft repaired after gear-up landing" Kathryn's report on the March 28 2013 fatal accident: http://www.kathrynsreport.com/2013/03... Apologies for how terrible the video looks but this is from 15 year ago. The camera was a Canon HV20 which recorded to tape and appears to be Canon's third model of an HD camcorder. It recorded at HDV 1080i which was a leap forward from what I was using previously and compared to a lot of other consumer level video cameras at the time. Also, this happened the first day I started using this new camera. I'll blame the new camera on how shaky the video is and missing the crucial touchdown moment :0
