Air travel across India has been significantly disrupted following the escalation of the crisis in the West Asia, after the reported killing of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. Indian airlines, including Air India, IndiGo, Air India Express, and Akasa Air, have canceled numerous international flights as a precautionary measure due to safety concerns and restricted airspace over Iran and surrounding regions. According to official reports, nearly 180 flights have been canceled nationwide as of Saturday, affecting passengers traveling to and from destinations including Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi, and major European cities. Major airports such as Indira Gandhi International Airport (Delhi), Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (Mumbai), and Chennai International Airport have reported cancellations ranging from 12 to 57 flights each, causing significant inconvenience to travelers. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued advisories urging airlines to avoid certain West Asian airspaces until further notice, and has advised passengers to check flight statuses before departure. Airlines have cited the ongoing conflict and associated safety risks as the primary reasons for the cancellations. The disruptions come amid rising tensions in West Asia, following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iranian targets, which led to Khamenei’s death, as confirmed by Iranian state media. Iran has vowed retaliation, and the volatile situation has raised fears of a broader regional conflict. Aviation experts warn that flight disruptions may continue as airlines reroute flights to avoid conflict zones, and air traffic in the region remains highly sensitive. Passengers are being advised to contact airlines for rescheduling options and are warned to expect delays as the situation evolves. The DGCA continues to monitor developments closely, coordinating with airlines to ensure passenger safety while minimizing operational disruptions. #FlightCancellations #MiddleEastTensions #India #Aviation #AirIndia #IndiGo #InternationalTravel #AirspaceClosure #Iran #Israel #TravelDisruption #westasia #TheHindu #BreakingNews #TopStories #NewsUpdate #IndiaNews #CurrentAffairs #TheHinduExplains#InDepth#Explained #UnderstandingIndia#TheHindu #BreakingNews #TopStories #CurrentAffairs #WorldNews #IndianPolitics #EconomyWatch #Geopolitics #NewsUpdate #Explained #Opinion Thank you for watching our video!
