FROM ‘ME’ TO ‘WE’ | Dan Isaac | Cynon Valley Church Welcome to this week’s message from Dan Isaac at Cynon Valley Church, part of our series “Then The World Will Know” — exploring biblical unity and why it matters so deeply in the life of the church. In this sermon, “From ‘Me’ to ‘We’,” we turn to Philippians 2:1–11 and discover that unity begins with humility. The church in Philippi loved Jesus, were generous and Spirit-filled — yet they were fragile in their relationships. Paul identifies the root cause of division: selfish ambition. His solution? A shared mind. A shared love. A shared humility. The mindset of Christ. Unity does not mean uniformity — but it does mean putting others before ourselves. In a world that says, “Put yourself first,” Jesus calls His people to live differently. He humbled Himself, took the nature of a servant, and became obedient to death — even death on a cross. If we are shaped by Jesus, we must share His posture. Why does this matter so much? Because Jesus said our love for one another is how the world will know we belong to Him (John 13:35). The world is watching. Our unity — or our division — shapes how people see Christ. This message is both a challenge and an invitation: Where have we prioritised preference over people? Where have we chosen pride over humility? Where do we need to move from “me” to “we”? As we humble ourselves and value one another above ourselves, we reflect Christ — and together declare that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
