Dion Waiters - Primetime Playmaker 16/17
Dion. M’Fin. Waiters. Fourth overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft. He’s got that Philly Cheese swag, and in the 2016 NBA Playoffs, he helped the Oklahoma City Thunder push the defending champion and 73 win Warriors to the brink. Following that, he moved to Miami and helped them turn around their 11-30 start. They then reeled off 13 straight wins and they were one Brooklyn tank job away from making the playoffs. While Hassan Whiteside is the foundation of the team’s defense, with his NBA All-Defensive Second Team nod in 2016, and Goran Dragic is the spearhead on offense, Dion was the one dialled in when crunch time came calling. Let’s not make this more than it is, he’s fun to watch, if only because his confidence is irrational, but his ability sometimes rises up to what he believes he’s capable of. He serves up big plays as only Dion Waiters can.
