In this video I show you how to take one of your regular Christmas tree bulbs and hand paint it to look like this black and white striped one out of the set. I used a bulb that I already had that was green so first I used a paint stripper to remove the color off of the bulb. Once I removed the green color from the bulb I used a white spray paint primer to give a good solid coating to the entire bulb. Next I use a pencil to make my lines. I do this so that I can make sure that my pattern turns out the way I'm wanting and it is much easier to erase pencil to correct than to correct with paint. After I had the pattern exactly how I wanted it in pencil I go over the pencil lines with a Sharpie black paint marker. I am going to outline the pencil lines and color in the black sections. I feel this makes the process faster because when I cover the marker with black paint I usually only need one or two coats to get a solid black coverage. Otherwise it would take me 4-5 coats. Once I have the black colored in with the paint marker I use black and white acrylic paint to go over each section. To get the Mackenzie Childs Inspired look add a little yellow and blue to the white sections. I finished off by spray painting the ornament hood gold. I also spray painted the entire bulb with a clear matte enamel. I used red ribbon to hand on my tree. You can also add a bow to the ornament for extra pizzazz! Thanks for checking out my video. I will have videos on how to make the other bulbs in this set too so head to my channel for more awesome fun projects we can make together. #mackenziechildsinspired #mackenziechildsdiy #mackenziechildsinspireddiy
