The First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Mrs. Janet Museveni, has partnered with Deborah's Impact Projects Africa (DIPA) and the Africa World Training Centre to launch a cybersecurity training initiative for Ugandan youth. The programme targets 200,000 participants, addressing cybercrime, unemployment, and the global cyber-talent shortage. During a meeting at State House Nakasero, the First Lady engaged with Apostle Isi Igenegba, Founder of DIPA, and AWTC founders Augustine Degorl and Valeria Saucedo to explore collaboration opportunities. The initiative prioritizes training women as trainers, beginning with 5,000 participants. Recognizing Uganda's youth-dominated population and 13.3% unemployment rate, the programme aims to create high-value jobs and attract global partnerships. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will formalize the collaboration, enabling Uganda to serve as a cybersecurity outsourcing hub for international companies. Mrs. Museveni praised the organizations’ dedication to empowering Ugandan youth.
