Hi Guys and welcome to the channel… https://www.demonicangryowl.com/ Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar The Cathedral-Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is a Roman Catholic church in the city of Zaragoza, Aragon (Spain). The Basilica venerates Blessed Virgin Mary, under her title Our Lady of the Pillar praised as "Mother of the Hispanic Peoples" by Pope John Paul II. It is reputed to be the first church dedicated to Mary in history. Local traditions take the history of this basilica to the dawn of Christianity in Spain attributing to an apparition to Saint James the Great, the apostle who is believed by tradition to have brought Christianity to the country. This is the only reported apparition of Mary to have occurred before her believed Assumption. Many of the kings of Spain, many other foreign rulers and saints have paid their devotion before this statue of Mary. Saint John of the Cross, Saint Teresa of Ávila, Saint Ignatius of Loyola, and Blessed William Joseph Chaminade are among the foremost ones.[5] The Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar is one of two minor basilicas in the city of Zaragoza, and is co-cathedral of the city alongside the nearby La Seo de Zaragoza. The architecture is of Baroque style, and the present building was predominantly built between 1681 and 1872. Zaragoza. (Wikipedia history of Zaragoza - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zaragoz...) I’m Mark a.k.a. the Navy Slug, and a through and through biker. For over 50 years (I know you can’t believe I am that old right!!!!) but I’ve been riding bikes and covered well over 2 million miles on 2 wheels….. When you ask my friends to describe me, the words “petrol head" always seems to be said (a few others too..but not for publication here guys!). I’m energetic, lively, honest - sometimes too honest!! (read not overly diplomatic or just plain brutal) - love teeming up with other bikers on the open road and grabbing a beer (sorry coffee) at the end of a long ride..... And I ride all year in all weathers... I am not a fair-weather biker! My current bike is a BMW K1600 GTL (Samantha) who this blog and my Youtube channel is all about. I service most of my bikes and Sam is the first bike I haven't serviced - she goes to her regular service station (Pielmeier BMW Motorrad). It’s great service and really great people too... and I don't get charged a fortune! I enjoy making my motorcycles different from stock and research motorcycles and their histories to see what can be done to them to make them better. As you can tell, I love motorcycles... I use Sam for every day commuting, going on tours and camping trips around Europe.
